First Look: Lady Gaga’s Christmas Special–With The Muppets!

If you know anything about me at all, you can probably guess that I’d love–love–Christmas. Sparkly dresses, black-tie galas, little red boxes from Cartier under the tree–what’s not to j’adore? So I’m always keen to kick off the season as early as possible and, strangely, Lady Gaga seems to be like minded. I do not fancy any comparisons between myself and LG, but judging by the fact that tomorrow, on Thanksgiving, she’s debuting her Christmas TV special, I’d say we both have quite a bit of unexpected holiday spirit brewing within us. Ew.

Tomorrow night on ABC, Kermit and Miss Piggy will join Lady Gaga for a 90-minute Muppets Holiday Spectacular. This seems like an odd pairing, but considering I hear that her new album, ARTPOP, has sold a pathetic 300,000 copies in the first two weeks (quel dommage, Mother Monster), I wonder if an “Applause” singalong with Fozzie Bear will do anything to boost sales?

But if puppets aren’t your style, LG will also have a few guests, namely the delicious Joseph Gordon Levitt, and everyone’s girl crush Kristen Bell to liven things up! Gaga will also be duetting with Elton John and of course, Kermit.

Do you think Gaga’s holiday special will do the season justice? Or will this turn out to be a bizarre, fragmented un-merry mess (really Gaga, a septum piercing??) a la ARTPOP itself?
